The American Garage Door Manufacturer is a leading garage door manufacturer located in the greater Seattle-Tacoma area, specifically Puyallup, Washington USA, near the foothills of Mount Rainier. It is a privately held company and has been in business for 67 years, since 1946. The company has approximately 225 associates. The company is owned by the DeWitt family. Steve DeWitt is the CEO and his son Scott DeWitt is Vice-President Manufacturing.
In 2006 this American Garage Door Manufacturer built a new state-of-the-art fully integrated 288,000 square foot (26.75 square meters) manufacturing facility which includes a large showroom. It has six wholly owned distribution centers in the United States: Portland, Oregon; San Jose, California; Spokane, Washington; Boise, Idaho; Salt Lake City, Utah; San Jose, California and Denver, Colorado serving eleven Western States. It has also additional distribution through a number of independent distributors, which includes locations in Los Angeles, California; Norwalk, Connecticut and Canada. The American Garage Door Manufacturer locations service more than 1400 independent door dealers that sell garage doors throughout the US and Canada in addition to the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. In addition, this manufacturer has a separate Retail Sales Location in Tacoma, Washington with 30 full size garage doors on display in their new showroom, the largest garage door display on the West Coast of the United States.
